Mother's Day Gift Giving

[box type="shadow" ]This post was written as part of my collaboration with eBay.[/box] Mother's Day is always hard for me. I want it to be different this year. When I heard about #eBayMom collections and sweeps, I thought this might be a good beginning. A way back to bring back some happy memories.

I started looking through the Moms on eBay gift guide and it brought back a flood of memories of Mami. Shopping with her, shopping for her, the look on her face when she got a gift. And the fact that my grown ass Mami could NOT stand the sight of a wrapped gift for longer than a few minutes at a time. She was an expert at peeking because she couldn't stand waiting.

One year after Mami had renovations finished up at the house, she was looking for a chandelier. We would talk about them, she would drag me to stores to stare at them and she would go on and on and on about what she was looking for.  I went ahead and bought not one but two chandeliers (one for the dining room and one for the living room). I had to hide them in my house in a place where she wouldn't see them when she came over. It was great fun.

This was for Christmas and I knew I couldn't put them under the tree because )I'm not making it up) this woman would peek and then would put the wrapping back perfectly. Looking back I realize that she probably knew what was in every box way before Christmas. Anywho, the look on her face when she saw that I got her not just one chandelier but TWO and that they were both exactly what she wanted?! A kid at Christmas. Literally. It's one of the most priceless memories I have.

We all want to give that to our Mamis, right? I created two collections in honor of Mamis Day. One as a tribute and a reminder of all things that Mami liked and the other as my own personal wishlist. This was a great happy memory inducing activity.

You have 17 more days til Mother's Day. So, listen to this Mami if you want to come out on top and make some priceless memories of your own this year while bringing a big fat smile to your Mamis face.

First, check out the eBay Moms gift guide and then, create your own #eBayMom collection and enter for a chance to win $500 to shop on eBay (which you will then use to buy me something from my collection. Win-win, I say!).

So tell me, what's the best Mother's Day gift you've given or received?
