Walgreens Wellness Tour In Orlando

Disclosure: this is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. You can argue that statements mean different things to different people. I'd like to think that the term wellness is one of those equalizers that makes everything the same. Wellness represents health, after all. For me, wellness means being mentally and physically healthy.

While so many people have the option of calling their doctor and scheduling an appointment thanks to health insurance, there are still some that fall into those gaps of healthcare coverage that can't do that.

This is the reason why I am so excited about Walgreens Wellness Tour. Now in it's ninth year the tour, in partnership with the National Urban League join forces to bring this community outreach program to those that need it most.

This program provides free preventative and early detection health services to urban and at-risk communities across the country.

The When

From now until November, the Wellness Bus will make the rounds and Walgreens will use this tour to help provide free health tests, assessments, education and consulting services in certain markets.

The What

The screening takes approximately 20 minutes. The 3 free health tests measure 10 key health indicators that include total cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, body composition, skeletal muscle, resting metabolism, visceral fat, real body age and body weight. The free health tests are administered by certified wellness staff and are available to adults who are ages 18 and older. Afterward, participants, consult with a Walgreens pharmacist or certified wellness staff about his or her results. The tour also provides important resources, educational information and consulting services.

The Where

I'm happy that this service is being provided nationwide and ecstatic that it will be here in Orlando. It is needed and timely.

If you know someone who can use these services, I hope you share this with them. If this is someone near and dear to you, I hope you'll go with them and ensure that they get these important screenings.

I can think of one person that I will drag invite. Can you think of anyone?
