Read and Play Community Recap
Have you been checking out the Random House Community over at The Blog Frog? No? This makes me sad. Â Oh what wonderful things you've missed! For starters, we've had Live Chats with Chris Raschka, Rebecca Stead & Clare Vanderpool, Mary Pope Osborne, David A. Kelly, John Stephens and we even had a Sesame Street Work Shop!
It's been a great experience for me to be knee deep in books once again. I'd forgotten just how much I love interacting with fellow bibliomaniacs and nerds alike. Â Not only have we had some very active Live Chats but, we have also had some great conversations. Among them:
And yesterday, I received this lovely collection of books that transported me back to my book buying days and brought a smile on to my face and a warmth in my heart that only the feel and scent of new books can bring.
The live chat yesterday was fantastic as we got to talk about the new Elmo's Big Birthday Bash app which is a Step Into Reading Level 1 book. It was very interesting and I've already downloaded the app on to my mamiPad and can't wait for the frog princess to sit with it.
If you're thinking "mami, why are you telling me this if we've missed it?" well you haven't missed all of it. The community is still going to be around come May. And I don't know how, but I am even more excited about May! Why you ask? Well, we will be talking to Tom Leveen, Judy Blume (YES! Can you say, Forever?), Tad Hills, Devon Kinch, Trudy Ludwig and Kate Klimo.
We will also have some great conversations about reading, fostering the love of books, printables and activities and a myriad of other subjects. Â Feel free to start your own conversation or, contribute to one that's already been started. We are here to help you with any questions you might have or just chat about books that you love!
I hope to see you there!
