Furniture Daydreams With Havertys
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Oh and my dating situation might just change because of it. I have been smitten with these Havertys videos since I first saw them. So naturally, when I was given the opportunity to chat about it I jumped all over it. Actually, I didn’t jump. I lounged over it. I felt it was the appropriate thing to do (don't judge).
I have been furniture obsessed these last few months. Between trying to figure out what I’m going to do with that back room that’s supposed to be an office/lounge area (but is really just a big space with desks, sofa and books) and finding the right sitting accoutrement for my bedroom, I have been staying up at night stalking looking through people’s Pinterest boards.
Let me tell you what I’m looking for in my bedroom. I need a place to throw my clothes on lounge, a place where I can prop my backpack on sit and read. I've always loved the idea of the chaise lounge. Why? Because it sounds calming. Maybe it's the fact that you have to sit back to enjoy it that makes me think of relaxing. Or maybe it makes me think of sitting at the therapist's office. Food for thought.
I think if I was a piece of furniture, I'd totally be a chaise lounge though. When I think of a chaise I think of Cleopatra chillin' on hers and eating grapes, telling people what to do. Â Which reminds me of one of my favorite Havertys commercials. Have you seen the one about the job interview?
As an entrepreneur, I'm considering including "bring your favorite piece of furniture with you" when I interview for my next employee just to see what they'll bring/do.
Anywho, chaise lounges are all regal and queenlike. Kinda like me. I think they match my personality. Â There's a certain level of sexiness to the chaise lounge. But you can also sit there with friends and laugh til you cry. Or maybe sleep if/when you get away from your kid (s). ?It can be sleek and sexy but casual and comfortable. Â Of course, I asked the (ex) man his opinion on this and I quickly realized that maybe things weren't going to work out for us on this "dating again" thing. His response to my question: what piece of furniture would I be (he did not hesitate, y'all)?
Coffee table
Yes people, he said coffee table! Which I guess means I'm a square? Rigid? Hard? Not entirely sure. When I questioned him on this he backtracked and said footstool. Which then made me feel like he thought people could put their feet on me without consequences. Finally he reverted back to a classic coffee table which now means I get to add old to the list of adjectives he uses to describe me. Needless to say I'm not speaking to him at the moment. But I digress. Where were we?
Ah yes, Havertys. Â I love the idea of being able to walk into a store and pick and choose pieces to match my style/personality. Moreover, I think the commercials are hilarious. Have you seen all of them? They're award winning, you know. Do you have a favorite?
