Girl's Night: Juanes Loud & Unplugged #AlEstiloBrisk
Disclosure: this is a sponsored post & one of the highlights of my summer. Friday night was girl's night and boy did we have fun! Though blogging might have some ups and downs and lately I have felt like going back to my grown up shell because the high school drama is a bit much for me, I am happy and blessed to have some great gal pals to share some experiences with. Â On this night, I wanted to celebrate some successes but mostly I wanted to celebrate the authentic and genuine people in my life.
And Juanes was definitely an...experience. I invited my cousin Nadiuska to the concert with me. You might remember her as she birthed this awesomely handsome boy that I blogged about last year.
It all started with our chauffeured pick up and delivered us safely to Hard Rock Live. We were then privy to Juanes's sound check, his lovely smile, his talented musicians  and of course, his music.
We then had the great pleasure of meeting, greeting and taking a picture with Juanes...
Yes, that was a treat. I'm kinda regretting not going for the kiss. Speaking of yumminess: following that, we were led to the Lennon room where we were presented with some ahmazing treats.
Don't drool over your device BUT, these were all created with Brisk Iced Tea. Can you believe it? Everything from the Chicken Cigars to the Scallops & Risotto. Brisk? It's in there!
And the concert hadn't even begun! The fun really started when we stepped back into the concert area and finally had the chance to experience our favorite Juanes songs while hanging out with some of our favorite people.
This is when being a blogger is fun. When we can marry what we love with the job we love. You know what's also fun? Finding awesome new recipes! So I leave you today with the Brisk Brojito and Briskin' Lemon Chicken Wangz. If you're going to make these, let me know about what time you'd like me to head on over. I'd hate for you to have to eat and drink by yourself. You're welcome!
A great big thank you to Brisk Iced Tea for making this happen and Juanes, if you're ever in the 'hood, you know where to find me!
Brisk Brojito
- 4 servings
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- 1 lime, halved
- 12 mint leaves
- 4 cups Brisk® Sweet Tea, chilled
Squeeze lime into small pitcher, then add lime and mint. Thoroughly crush with wooden spoon.
Pour in Brisk® Sweet Tea and stir well. Serve, if desired, with additional mint and lime slices.
For an adult version add 1.5 oz. rum per serving.
Briskin' Lemon Chicken Wangz
- 8 servings
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 1 hour
- 3 lbs. chicken wings, cut in half and tips removed
- 5 Tbsp. Country Crock® Spread, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 cups Brisk® Tea with Lemon
- 3 Tbsp. cayenne pepper sauce
Preheat oven to 425°. Line bottom of broiler pan with aluminum foil; arrange rack on top. Season chicken, if desired, with salt and black pepper. Arrange chicken on prepared pan. Bake, turning once, until chicken is thoroughly cooked, about 1 hour.
Meanwhile, melt 1 tablespoon Spread in 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat and cook garlic 30 seconds. Stir in Brisk® Tea with Lemon and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until slightly syrupy and leaves a trail when the bottom of the pan is scraped with a spatula, about 20 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium. Stir in cayenne pepper sauce and cook, stirring occasionally, until heated through, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in remaining 1/4 cup Spread.
Reserve 1/4 cup sauce, then toss cooked chicken with remaining sauce mixture.
Serve with reserved 1/4 cup sauce for dipping.
Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Brisk. I was provided with a VIP experience package in order to tell you all about the Loud & Unplugged tour. All opinions, stuffed face, hurting feet and slight case of drooling while in the presence of Juanes and his lovely voice, are purely my own.
